Davis Editing is the online home of Ryan Davis. I edit books and articles primarily in the religious studies field, with an emphasis on Christian theology and biblical studies. Being an editor has made me a learner and unlearner of many things, and I love encountering new ideas in history, language, literature, psychology, sociology, politics, and spirituality. I aim to assist authors and publishers craft publications of the highest quality while making the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
I’ve had the honor of editing books by many esteemed scholars, including Khaled Anatolios, Richard Bauckham, Hans Boersma, Beverly Roberts Gaventa, John Goldingay, Kathryn Greene-McCreight, Luke Timothy Johnson, Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen, Craig Keener, Scot McKnight, and James K. A. Smith.
Book publishers I have worked with include Baker Academic and Brazos Press, Eerdmans, Yale University Press, Kregel Academic, IVP Academic, and others. I am also a copyeditor for Comment magazine, and I edit and typeset material for the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia.
I studied English literature and technical communication at the University of Washington and theology at Regent College.
